• MBP Display Funkiness (weird temperature)

I’ve been working a lot with color profiles and trying to get my photos to look the same in different browsers lately (photos look very different in Firefox vs Safari). This has made me more aware of color profiles and display temperatures than usual so I thought I was just seeing things when I returned to my laptop from getting coffee, flicked my mouse to turn off the screen saver and noticed that my screen looked a bit off. Turns out it was. Somehow during the screensaver the profile changed from Color LCD to Adobe RGB. I only noticed this by opening up the display preferences panel. Upon opening the panel the profile changed (automatically) back to color LCD.

  • Macbook Pro size

Noticed this morning just how much larger the 15" MPB is than my previous 13" white laptop. My new one barely squeezes into my timbuk2 messenger bag. I’m digging the larger display for photo editing but think the 13" is more practical for day to day work. The 15" is not quite big enough to do two windows side by side (e.g. firefox and textmate for developing) so I still end up tabbing through applications.

  • No Firewire port on the new macbook means no video editing. That’s bit lame. AAPL forcing consumers to buy MBPs to do video?
